Insider Tips
Our ten favorite decluttering suggestions:
- Decide to “do it”. Build some time into your schedule to start decluttering. Commit to at least ½ hour a day. Overwhelm can be diminished by starting with a small task or area.
- Keep your agreements with yourself and always build in rewards for your accomplishments, however small they may seem to be.
- Dispense with negatives such as guilt, embarrassment or blame — they are mind clutter.
- Question each item: Do I need you? Are you of value to me now? Are you useful?
Are you beautiful? - Become aware of your habits and routines. What processes are contributing to a
messy environment? Habit change is a reachable goal. - Examine your commitments to activities and events that drain you, to people who
do not enhance your life. - Consider incomplete tasks and unfinished communications — set aside time to
clear them — or let them go. - Question your purchases. Bring nothing more into your home that is not beautiful
or useful, and sustainable. - Do the dishes before you go to bed — it may not be your thing but it will help you
to get a happier start in the morning. - Get support. Call Inside ’N Out Clutter Consulting to find out how we can help you.
